RenovAção: 2023 and 2024

Since 2019, RenovAção has been developing environmental education for the entire school community of the participating units, implementing sustainability infrastructure in schools with a focus on water and waste.

Solutions were implemented for the spaces, such as rainwater harvesting systems, infrastructure for selective waste collection, rain gardens, and afforestation, in addition to supporting Environmental Education initiatives in the schools.

This initiative contributes to SDGs: 4, 6, 11, 12, 13

Results 2023 and 2024:

• Creation of 5 models with sustainability projects by and for the schools;
• 37 classes created by school educators on sustainability themes for the schools;
• 49 native Atlantic Forest trees planted in 8 different schools;
• 6 schools with rain gardens implemented, improving the microclimate and rainwater management to prevent flooding;
• 2,769 students directly involved in Environmental Education workshops;
• 68 cleaning and kitchen professionals trained in good practices regarding water and waste;
• 49 educators trained in workshops on water, waste, sustainability, and climate;
• 146 items installed for selective waste collection.
